7. Pull down menu Window > Tools. The Toolbox disappears
NB The Window menu is a common way to hide and show the workarea items.

8. Maximize the image window, by clicking the icon, located in the top right corner of the window.  Make sure you are clicking the mage window gadget and not the window gadget for the program itself

9. Close image window by clicking its button

10. Let's restore the palettes to their default positions in order to tidy them up. From the pull down menu, choose Window > Reset Palette Locations to accomplish this
