1. Run Paint Shop Pro and look around. There are traditional pull-down menus at the top and several palettes and toolbars all over the program window.

Now we have to learn how to organize our workspace. With the potential of using many tools on a single project, it becomes a requirement to know how to move, hide and display palettes.

2. By default, the palettes and toolbars are docked to the program window. However, you can let them float all over your workspace or dock to any other side of the window. Just pull at a toolbar's handle or palette's title bar and drop it at a desired area.

3. You can hide any unnecessary interface element by clicking its close button.

4. To display a hidden item use View menu. For example, View > Palettes > Materials or View > Toolbars > Tools.

5. And do not be afraid of spoiling your work area. If you get lost or confused with your reorganized interface just load the default Paint Shop Pro X workspace.
