The "Shape from Path" action converts the current path to a vector shape layer.
By default the layer is filled with red color. To choose some other color just double-click the layer thumbnail in the Layers palette.
You may use this action, for example, for vectorizing a raster object:
- Select the object, e.g., with the Polygonal Lasso tool.
- Convert the selection to a path.
- Convert the path to a shape layer.
Alternatively you may fill the active path with a gradient (Layer > New Fill Layer > Gradient) or pattern (Layer > New Fill Layer > Pattern).
