We already know how to choose a color - for a tool or created artwork - using the pop-up Swatches palette. Unfortunately, the range of choice in it is very narrow. What if we need some special color?
§ 1. Display the Color Mixer panel. (If you can't find it, pull down "Window > Color Mixer" or press [Shift+F9] keys.)
§ 2. Click on the "pencil" or "bucket" pictogram to define which color attributes you want to edit - stroke or fill.
§ 3. Now choose a color roughly using either pop-up swatches (as we did it earlier) or the color field in the panel center (as it is shown in the movie).
§ 4. By default, the Color Mixer uses RGB model of color presentation that describes any color as a mix of red, green and blue constituents. Fine-tune your current color by moving R (red), G (green), and / or B (blue) sliders.
§ 5. Alternatively, you may choose HSB model representing colors through their hue (color temperature), saturation (color intensity or purity), and brightness. Adjust you color by moving H (hue), S (saturation), and / or B (brightness) sliders.
§ 6. Another important color attribute is "alpha" - the color opacity. By reducing its value you can make your strokes partially transparent, so that underlying objects may show through them.
§ 7. Click on an empty space in your document to deselect all. Now the Properties inspector displays the whole document attributes. Click on the color button - it is white as default - and choose some other color. The document background color has been changed. |
