Home -> Flash Tutorials ->    Shape Properties

As we have seen, the Properties inspector allows us to change attributes for a current tool. Now let's use it to change the picture without drawing tools.

§ 1. Activate the Selection Tool and click on a shape (either fill or stroke).

§ 2. Look at the Properties inspector. It displays the available attributes for the selection - stroke / fill color and style. Edit these options to change the shape appearance. Or press [Delete] key if you don't need this fragment any more.

§ 3. To select the both shapes - inner fill and its stroke outline - simultaneously, just double-click within the fill area. Then Shift-click on some other shape to add it to the selection. While editing the selection range, note how these changes affect the Properties panel.

§ 4. Sometimes the "dots" on the selected shapes hinder estimating the result, so before editing the selection you may want to hide them. Pull down "View > Hide Edges" to accomplish this.

§ 5. Now you can comfortably edit parameters for all the selected shapes at once. By the way, the stroke and fill color can be changed from the Tools panel as well. The conclusion is: beware of accidental changes in your document! Before defining color (or other attributes) for a tool, make sure that no shape / object is selected at the moment.
